Are More Canadians "Red Pilled" Per Capita?
Speculating if Canadians are overrepresented among the "based"
This May, I had the honour of attending the Scanza Forum Spring Conference in Tallinn, Estonia, organized by Frodi Midjord. During the weekend, we had the opportunity to listen to insightful speeches from a number of prestigious speakers, meet dozens of like-minded individuals, and experience the wonder of European culture that is the city of Tallinn together. It was a truly white pilling event. Being around so many people who share both your values and concerns for the future of Western civilization is a major moral boost.
One thing which stuck out to me was the number of fellow Canadians who were in attendance. If I remember correctly, I met at least seven other Canadians the conference which had several dozens of people in attendance. What’s more, five of them were expats from Toronto living in Europe like me.
It makes sense that Canadians living in Europe would be more likely to attend a conference in Estonia than those living in Canada seeing as how far away it is, though some did make the journey all the way from Canada. Nevertheless, Canadians were certainly well represented among those in attendance, especially from Toronto in particular. This could just be a coincidence, but it also could be a sign of something I’ve speculated about for some time.
Could more Canadians be “red pilled” per capita than in comparable countries? Could Canadians be overrepresented among White people across West who are aware of the existential threat we collectively face as a race? It sounds counter-intuitive at first. Canada is known as being one of the most, if not the most cucked countries in the Western World. Over the past 60 years, Canadians have built up a reputation for being more liberal than their American counterparts. In recent years, our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has become an icon of wokeism’s domination of Canada.
In the days when we were part of the British Empire, being loyal to the crown, perhaps even more loyal than the British themselves, was a facet of Canadian identity. Today, under the rule of the Global American Empire for which wokeism is imperial ethos, many Canadians derive their sense of identity by being more woke than Americans, in effect making them more loyal to the empire again. Only this time, the woke empire which Canadians are loyal to is evil and demonic to its core.
It seems unusual to suggest that Canada might have a sizeable “based” population, at least in comparison to American, especially when you consider that we’ve elected Trudeau three times while Americans elected Trump in 2016. However, I have often noticed that Canadians tend to be very well represented on dissident right aligned sites, forums, and channels. And this is for content which is not specifically focused on Canada, but the broader dissident right which transcends several countries.
Turns out, if the MSM is to be believed (they rarely are, but I’ll bite), this perception might be backed up by stats. In 2020, CBC reported that Canadians are among the most active in advocating “far-right, White Supremacist” views online, citing a UK-based study. As we all know, when CBC says “far-right”, they mean advocating sanity in opposition to woke insanity, and when they say “White supremacy”, they mean advocating White dignity.
It’s a lot less likely that those who this study identified as “far-right” are violent Neo-Nazi skinheads with swastikas tattooed on their foreheads and a lot more likely that they are simply people opposed to the radical transformation of Canada from a once prosperous, majority White country into an anti-white, totalitarian, madhouse. The Hill Times also published an article titled “Canadians ‘overrepresented in the alt-right,’ says filmmaker who chronicled movement’s rise”, but it’s paywalled and I’m not about to give these people any money in order to read it.
This could be more baseless MSM alarmism, but if what they consider to be “far-right” really means those fundamentally opposed to the globalist system, it would line up with my own anecdotal experience of coming across a lot of fellow Canadians in this sphere of politics. I really don’t have any way of verifying this for certain, but I am going to speculate on why this might be the case, if it is in fact true that Canadians are overrepresented on the dissident right.
The first potential cause of this phenomenon (if it really exists) could be the speed and scale at which the globalist agenda is being forced upon Canada. Canada has among the highest net migration rates of any Western country and is experiencing ethnic demographic change as fast as any. Likewise, Canada also has a reputation for radical policies enforcing the LGBT agenda and it was considered to have had one of the most tyrannical COVID regimes.
Now, this alone wouldn’t red pill Canadians at a significantly higher rate per capita than any other Western country. After all, countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, etc. all have their fair share of the same. We can argue which one has it the worst, but suffice to say, they all have enough POZ to give any independent-minded and self-respecting White person living there a cause to consider where all of this is going.
Another factor which could be leading to more Canadians embracing dissident politics on average is the lack of controlled opposition in Canada. It’s one thing to be unhappy with the trajectory of Western society. It’s another to be able to fully understand the root of the problem and to be willing to embrace real solutions. A huge amount of media and political action in the West is devoted to catering to the former while preventing the latter.
“Pressure release valve” is the word used to describe this. It funnels the energy of those dissatisfied with the situation into false opposition which gives them a false sense of hope, but never actually solves the problem. Donald Trump and the MAGA movement has acted as a pressure release valve in the United States for going on eight years now, offering the false hope of a political solution which can never be realized. On the media front, voices like the former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson garner millions of views per broadcast. He speaks to the legitimate grievances of White America, but makes sure to remind them that the United States becoming majority non-White is unimportant, their interests as a group are illegitimate, that they can only see themselves as individuals, and that thinking otherwise is akin to the “Nazism”.
I’m less tuned into the politics of countries like Sweden or Germany, but I know that their controlled opposition populist parties, the Sweden Democrats and the AfD, have had electoral success, giving the false hope of a political solution within the system. I’m also aware that the UK also has its fair share of pressure release valves such as a number of populist parties, a sizeable amount of controlled opposition media, and the years long Brexit saga which never yielded any real positive results.
The same kind of controlled opposition exists in Canada, but it has been a lot less successful. We have Rebel Media and the People’s Party of Canada, but their popularity pales in comparison to the sensations of Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump in the US. Our controlled opposition is so much smaller, that many right-leaning Canadians (typically boomers) who otherwise would be swept up by it begin to live vicariously through conservative politics in America, becoming devoted fanboys of Donald Trump or Tucker Carlson despite living in a different country.
So, in Canada, we have one of the wokest countries where the globalist agenda is being pushed extremely aggressively along with a lack of the same controlled opposition which is present in other countries. It makes the dichotomy between supporting and opposing the system much starker. I would imagine that what that would result in is the naturally large number of people disaffected with the direction of the country being more likely to find their way to genuinely dissident politics. If this is true, it would suggest that the destruction of the controlled opposition right would be fruitful for our purposes, but that’s a topic for another day.
Now, I don’t think this necessarily means the prospects for pro-White politics in Canada are particularly better than other countries. The numbers still aren’t high enough yet to bring about real political change. Afterall, the five other former Torontonians who I met in Tallinn left to live a saner life elsewhere, as I have too. But then again, that would also suggest that Toronto has a way of pushing self-respecting White Canadians to seek an alternative to the woke nightmare. So, it makes sense that there would be many of us who feel this way. Maybe this is all wishful thinking on my part. But Canadians really could use some white pills today. So, let’s just hope this is the case.
I was at the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa and for the first time ever it made me realise that not only was I (and the people I went there with) not alone, but that there are a lot of us out there, even just in the area within driving distance to Ottawa. We just tend to think we're alone because we have no representation in the government or in the media. Our biggest problem is that we'd have to find a way to organise and develop networks. The Freedom Convoy was great just for seeing who else was out there, but it was a one time thing.
Honnetement, as a Franco-Canadien, I'm hoping to leave for greener pastures; namely European ones as I've come to regard Canada as already fallen and without hope. I don't consider myself particularly right-wing, but prefer to consider myself as Quebecois or Francais. I'd prefer to gain French citizenship but doubt it's in the cards, so that I'm considering moving to Poland before the end of the year, though as said I'd rather move to France.
France is in my blood, as my ancestors came from there, I love the histoire and lit and passionately love the old pays. If I must perish I'd rather it be on French soil, as it still has a chance to my mind in marked contrast to Canada.
